How healthy is the community these days?

Hey folks. It's been a while since I was around, both here and on the game itself. I'm missing the past three expansions (that should give you an idea when I last played) and I would like to know how the population is on the various servers and what state the community is in.

I know I could go to the official forums for this, but on many cases I found the people here to be quite a bit more forthcoming on some subjects.

Also, I'd like to know if the old tricks I knew still work. I'm going through my PM's and I know some things got hit. I also remember they basically threw out the Card cruncher and brought out a new version of the Raid Hourglass.

If you feel comfortable shooting me a PM on any of that, feel free. I do understand that people prefer to only talk to people they trust, so I respect that and wont push anyone who doesn't want to be pushed. Perhaps I can earn your trust in time.

So folks - what do you think of the current state of the game and the points I mentioned above?

Hi Welcome

My only comment is that the community is basically on discord now.

The community is dangerous and unbalanced. So about as healthy as it was when you left.

That's the main DDO discord server that I know about and it's the one that devs sometimes show up in. I'm sure there are also raid organizing servers available for each server in addition to that "main" DDO server, but I'm not in any of them. At least as far as I remember.

I don’t think anyone would describe this amount of time spent on a game as healthy...

I've looked. Everything is too pvp oriented. Thanks, WoW.

A lot of people describe playing DDO as like being in an abusive relationship.

The community is fine.

SSG on the other hand is in a vegetative state, curled up in the fetal position and laying in a puddle of its own piss.

Their latest update only had two items on the patch notes and at least one of them isn’t working.

Not sure what they think they did, but whatever at this point.

Join us in the discord - it is hilarious to see some of the old timers waving their epeen on a dead game  Grin

Also some of us only play Hardcore league - which is a permadeath server event which opens like seasons in Diablo 3. Keep an eye out - it is by far the best thing to happen - atleast for couple of weeks when the server is full. Undecided

Roflmao, epeens indeed. The funny part for me is that any peens being waved are from recent updates at best and lives are even more recent results of boxage.

Which brings me to posit, DDO is odd in the way among online games in that there are no old, ancient, legacy items players would have gathered in the olden days that are obscenely powerful and no longer available.

Closest thing DDO had to that as far as I'm aware are the level 7/8 Green Steel accessories/weapons. Power creep from recent years lessened their viability but they were incredibly powerful for the longest time.

There was a badass quiver some EU players got that I was always jealous of. Think it gave toughness some umd and some to hit.
