You know the strange thing, Turbine lead the charge into "Fuck the players, we only care about whales" by starting up the whole f2p thing in a real way. Now we see the downside of the F2P model at the end, Game Studios will prioritize their whales so that they can continue making money. The Whales will provide an almost stead income until the game eventually closes, making them so much more important than any other player.

	I was just wondering if there was an actual practical fix plan or we are just doomed to complain about an unfixable or not worth the money to fix game forever. I don’t do coding so I am just looking at it from “here problem, me fix” standpoint to get the general idea.

They added onto their code over the years with tweaks and hacks to get it to work, never invested in reducing what's called technical debt, and are now stuck in a situation where there is no good way out. To properly fix the code would take them making a serious investment in it regardless of the method they used to fix it. It won't be cheap easy or quick anymore. This is the result of 15 years of bad practices and mis-management.

They will probably bodge together enough of a repair to get the game playable, then the consultants will cash their checks and nope out, and in a year we'll be back where we started. SSG is like a college freshmen with 5 credit cards and no job, they've maxed them all out and any solution is a temporary fix at best. Until someone actually pays them off, they is fucked. As Charon said, this is what 15 years of bad practices gets you. The supreme irony is Asheron's Call was still running AMAZINGLY before they shut the lights off. WTF?
