For most players it was "spend 2 weeks grinding the new raid, then the rest of the year grinding PvP". I don't think DDO is much different in that regard, except we get to re-run dozens of quests instead of 6 PvP things.

	DDO is not just about the content. DDO is about the character generation and build variation. That's the part I enjoy the most. I enjoy new content when it first comes out, but in some ways I enjoy old content more because A) I think a lot of it was very well made and B) it allows me to measure build performance even if a lot of it is based on how it "Feels" when I run it vs. pure metrics. (I'd love to have actual metrics like a damage log that is downloadable to excel or something.) Anyways, I don't play as much as I would like but when I do, I have fun.

	I'm with you on that, Ash. Another reason WoW sucked is the total lack of build-diversity. If you consider the MASSIVE possibilities with character generation/build generation, and the way most builds play content in a different way - the amount of "content" even pre-MOTU DDO had was orders of magnitude more than modern WoW.

I think the complexity and variation is the only reason to play DDO. However, the downside is that there is always a meta which works against that.

	It was my 11th grade english teacher. Crazy woman had six latin classes and one english class; there was ALWAYS a paper due. Always. And when you thought maybe you'd have a day or two without a paper looming over your head, she'd slam down a stack of those weird-colored legal pads and say today's exam is an essay. Start writing. Best teacher I ever had. Last I checked, she's VP of the local school board.

	When they lied and said they were updating rangers only to have nerfed the dawg sht outta of em... Deaded the monkcher, phk the game... uninstalled right after “testing” it on lama and was absolutely MORTIFIED at the “changes” that were really nerfs... haven’t looked back since -glad I jumped ship before that saltmarsh fuckery and have casually been keeping an eye on this amazing website to see when and if ddo died yet... for good...

	I mean I suppose some day the sun will expand into a brown dwarf and vaporize the servers. This is assuming DDO wasn't loaded onto the generational ship with Ultima Online and Furcadia. We love the notion of it being handed over to the community, but in practice that actually never happens(too many licensing headaches). In summary: either the sun will explode, or SSG will turn the on/off switch to "off" and be done with it.

I was part of her... 32nd year, and that was 17 years ago. She always said she was going to 35 for the massive boost to her pension.
