VoK launcher broken for anyone else? (Read 4231 times)

	Last few days VoK has been spitting out "unable to launch the game, and the error has been logged. Check the server status." The basic DDO launcher works just fine. This is happening to me on 2 separate PCs.

	I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

	I had to uninstall then reinstall. It worked.

	I reinstalled and now I get a message that say "Unable to lunch the game, and the error has been logged. Check the server status." =/

	A few weeks ago, SSG made a change to some setting in the launcher for LOTRO. We found it the same day and made a new release. Then Update 52 hit and that same change had made it's way into DDO. The "Vault of Kundarak" launcher is officially deprecated. It was rebranded "Dungeon Finder" and released as open source. https://dungeonfinder.vaultofkundarak.com/ https://gitlab.com/VaultOfKundarak/dungeon-finder

My guess is they got some nasty notes from SSG regarding their use of the name "Kundarak" and changed it accordingly. Or possibly they want to branch out and expand the same launcher to run multiple MMOs. Very likely to become a cluster-fuck but I admire the ambition.

	Yeah, if they got a cease and desist letter, it probably came from WOTC. SSG is too cheap and stupid to find a capable attorney, because those idiots only want to pay paralegal wages. It’s the same reason they’ve got bottom tiered “talent” in virtually every position.

	We didn't get C&D'ed. It was an intentional thing we did for a few reasons: 1. We wanted to separate the game launcher from our plugin stuff. Which as of now includes an Auto-Follow app. 2. We wanted to make the Launcher open-source without making the plugin stuff open source. 3. We changed the name to protect ourselves going forward. WotC (Hasbro) owns all the IP around Eberron. We're not lawyers, but naming things on our own is safer. Easier to change it now. And yes, it's the same source code, just with a new name, stuff ripped out, and made open source.

	I was able to test this a bit today. Simple and easy to use. It has some quirks but works for me and there is potential for more. This is the 1st positive thing in month that comes with the game. Don't do this to me. Don't get my hopes up.
