	A while back there was a build that used the Arcane Archer "terror arrows" toggle for the PK effect. Just the other day I was in a pug and someone seemed to be wiping out trash like crazy with PKs. I'm wondering if the mob nerf made the build viable again?

So the build was a thing pre-reaper, it revolved entirely around optimizing the DCs for just that 1 effect. Then along came reaper and killed it dead. But, I saw someone who appeared to be using it on at least R1(which is the only reaper version I ever touch) and it seemed to be working well. I would assume the metas changed in the intervening years. Just wondering if there was a new PK archer build rolling around.

	I played this build post the xbow bug for a while. If you optimize DCs you can hit the target for PK. Biggest advantage at the time was you play around spellpen. For bosses you used to have burst damage in old FoTW, a bit limited in application but it works. Nowadays the DC is probably a non-issue, doubleshoot might be - you're relying on proccing a vorpal faster than a wiz hits finger. Shiradi has a lot of utility. cc'ing mobs that are feared, giving you burst for boss damage, works well with your doubleshoot that should be minmaxed, gives you extra DCs too. Magus of the Eclipse is actually decent because of moontouched Legendary Dreadnought has a lot of nice things, especially in the higher tiers. Divine Crusader has a niche in some builds fulfilling a similar role. What I'm curious about is the multiclass. You're hungry for a warlock splash, a fighter splash, and maybe an even heavier monk splash. FvS as main used to be default for wis to damage, but it may not be the case since falconry and the new mechanics - though the enhancements are becoming super tight.

The multi-class split is the part I'm stuck on. I legit don't remember what it was supposed to be or why. I don't think trying to go wis to dmg is great. Not for nothing but especially on a first-life/no tomes build its going to be super enhancement-starved to begin with. Obviously build is going to be way different on an uber-completionist.

	The build is about PK DC - you minmax wis. If you aren't taking wis to damage your damage is ass. If your damage is ass you're a worse necro caster. Maybe good if you have no past lives for spellpen, idk, idc. The whole point of the build is you're a DC caster with damage.

	That is helpful. It looks like you have to get pretty deep into falconry to make this work, but it seems like its possible. The level-split is the tough part. Is there ever any point in taking more than 11 levels of ranger? Seems like the class peters right the fuck out at 11.

Whatever that number reduces to should still be a very viable DC today with the mob nerfs. The level split doesn't make sense anymore since 10k stars doesn't work with a bow anymore. And of course you have to use a longbow/short bow since they nerfed the imbues to not work with xbows and throwers a long time ago.

You should update it! Would you just do ranger cleric now? Does monk do anything for you, really? Ocean stance, dodge, AC, and run speed I suppose?

	I'm hankering for some kind of ranger build, now. I had one many years ago that was mainly twf but had enough ranger levels to do decent ranged damage. It was not pure-ranger, though...

The epic moment in shiradi is decent. I was never a big fan of those burst-damage builds where you rely on 6 different action boosts cooling down to actually get that max DPS. What I like is util-builds, where you get to be on-the-fly versatile. Having a rogue-splash for trapping would be food. I've been wanting something that can two-weapon fight again, especially now that there's a Legendary Midnight Greeting.

	With new items you can reach 120 DC with decent damage, or 130 with no damage 5FS your build needs an update, it isn't minmaxed for either one
