This is pretty impressive (by ssg standards, not by good Q&A standards).

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

And someone in another thread called ME delusional recently!

Wow.

Have you EVER gone to Law School Feyn? Have you EVER been asked by a United States Senator who is now the Vice President of the United States to write a paper just for him on a particular topic of Constitutional Law for his use as a Senator? Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? Have you ever been offered a job as a Deputy Attorney General BEFORE you even graduated Law School?

No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.

You do realize that normally a bunch of shit they say they’ve fixed on release notes are in fact not fixed, right?

Don’t believe a fucking thing those lazy, half assed bottle rocket scientists say until you see it for yourself.

The level of shitting all over the floor is best summed up here:

Quote:
Shifter females now display their bloody footprints.

Exactly how screwy does your coding have to be where something like that can happen?

Its a god damn jumping puzzle. The fact that they thought they should do that was where they went wrong.

I think the fact that they bothered to add the "hold block to fall faster" QOL feature was pretty impressive.

The fact that it actually works properly is also quite impressive.

By SSG standards at least.

I wonder if the new producer told them to fix things more?

Doesn’t that new producer position still report directly to SSG’s Executive Producer, aka Crackhead Rob?!

I wouldn’t expect any producer working under that retard - no matter how good at their job they are - to be able to effect any kind of meaningful change.

No clue what their structure is like...and its not like they are going into detail anyway.

Everytime i think about how screwed up SSG is, i wish that a new CEO would come in and start kicking ass. Fire all the useless people, bring in competent people, fix their screwed up customer support situation, etc...

Have you ever seen a shitty restaurant chain bring in a new executive to fix things and he starts firing people, bringing in new people, fixing their fucked up supply chain, getting them to actually clean the restaurants, etc...and a few months later its a totally different chain and actually a decent place to eat at? Would be so amazing if that happened to SSG...

Too bad that didnt happen when EG7 purchased Daybreak games though. They should have fired all the useless people at Daybreak games first followed by the ones at SSG.

Have you ever seen a shitty restaurant chain bring in a new executive, fire everybody, etc, etc, and then still go bust 6 months later because it turns out their entire business model is broken?

I kid, of course.

The big difference between DDO and a restaurant chain is you can basically bring in anyone who knows how to run restaurants, and there is a TON of talent available there. With DDO the problem is all the staffers with engine-level knowledge of the game that simply cannot be replaced.

It could be that it just takes time. Unlike a guy who busses tables at a restaurant, SSG hire-ups probably have contracts. When those contracts expire it'll be a lot easier to clean house.

Yea, but you can replace the management and make those engine level staffers fix things, write proper documentation and start training new hires.

Havent all the key SSG staff been in the company for like, 5+ years minimum? Its not like they have been constantly hiring new people.

Yeah, it’s like EG7 asked themselves, “Who’s the biggest douchebag MMO studio executive, and how to we hire him as CEO?”  They essentially proved that they’re just as fucking clueless as every other company that’s been mismanaging this game.  Whatever hope I had that those dumbfucks would - at least in some small manner - turn management around has been completely obliterated.

Pretty sure they haven’t been successfully hiring talented people because anybody with a brain can immediately see how much of a train derailment in progress that whole shit show is. The janitors are the only competent people in that building.

The staffers with engine-level knowledge ARE the management. That's the whole problem - the game is being run by a bunch of coders.

SSG doesn't have "executives". The developers are running the show. If you look at the leadership you've got Jason Epstein who owns a big chunk of Daybreak and is way too busy making money to bother with managing one game. All the rest of SSGs hireups are artists or coders(which SSG calls "designers" because they suck), people with such intimate knowledge that if they walk the game stops functioning.

Yes, they answer to Daybreak and EG7, but Daybreak and EG7 have much bigger things to deal with than how one small game is being run. As long as they money keeps flowing in, they don't care. Once the money stops, they'll shut the lights off as fast as possible.
