Is it still possible to have item bonuses on cosmetics?

I remember it was possible at one point to some how make cosmetics that had item bonuses on them, so you'd have those bonuses at level one. I feel like it was related to strahd gear or something.

If someone can remember me what that was about (just so I know I remembering right) and then say if it's still possible, I'd appreciate it.

I think you're thinking of the Midwinter Festival stuff you could add to cosmetics. That still works except the festival and crafting devices are gone.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

There are few that works:

Festivult cold 10/fire 10 resistance (head/armor/cloak) - from abandonned ice games festival
Cold spellpower up to ~120 ish (head/armor/cloak) - but it made that cosmetic ML:26 lol - also from abandonned ice games
+1 competence bonus to saves (head) - Stone of change - Resistance Ritual
+1 Alchemical Bonus to AC (armor) - Stone of change - Alchemical Armor Eldritch Ritual
+1 Alchemical Bonus to AC (shield/orb) stacks with above - Stone of change - Alchemical Shield Eldritch Ritual

Oh but it works only on original cosmeics, not mirror of glamering copies.

What about bundle freebies? My favorite cosmetic cloak is the half-wake from Sharn.

As long as they’re not glamored, they should work.

The festival bonuses, when they were available could only go on store bought cosmetics. The only exception were the ragged rags from wheloon, which while not store bought required Astral shards to purchase.

Since nobody answered the actual question, I will:

You cannot have set bonuses on the cosmetic versions of gear anymore. You were right when you mentioned Strahd gear. You used to be able to just use a mirror on the armors and wear that cosmetic as part of the set (for example, with the silent avenger armor). This is no longer a thing.

Um, no you didn’t.

He specifically mentioned for use at level 1…and there’s no fucking way in hell you could ever get a Ravenloft set bonus at level 1 w/ just the glamored armor.

im guessing the stone of change recipes turn the cosmetics into BTC?

Is there anything that the old midwinter festival ingredients (motes, crafting recipes, etc) can be used for? Or just junk them?

Most cosmetics will be BTA. if you apply eldritch rituals on those, they remain BTA. BTC cosmetics remain BTC. Unbound costmetic become BTC.

There have been whispers that SSG or whatever they call themselves these days might or might not re-active the old midwinter festival. Small chance in my opinion, but you never know. Other than that, the old recipes are probably worthless.

Yeah, I’ve got a bunch of those recipes I’m saving in case they do open that back up.

I'm hoping they bring back the old midwinter festival. The new one is really 'meh'. Like the slide is relaxing, the jumping puzzle was just fucking retarded. I miss the ice skating course.

Yep.  I liked the old ones better too.

Whoever is responsible for designing that utter fail of a climbing quest may or may not be the same drooling retard that designed the tower spiral stairs in Sharn.

That would be my guess.

I want to know what fucking moron keeps putting jumping puzzles in a game with broken jumping physics. And why they still have a job. Seriously, Mexican day laborers could design better quests.

Now all I can think of is how bad Steelstar and Lynabell would be at picking fruit in California...and how badly I want to watch that happen irl.

Keep them, they sometimes can be used as ingredient in unexpected way for new systems.

Like when you could use Free Agents vials in old CC recipies.

Oh and regarding cannith crafting - u better start stocking on Mystical Dried Fish etc - those will be reintroduced when cannith crafting cap raises (will happen the same moment when lvl cap raises to 35). But only if you'd like to craft banishing weapons etc Wink

I wasn’t aware of that particular set bonus working on cosmetics.  But with the shoddy, half assed work of the devs, it shouldn’t surprise me.

That said, it doesn’t invalidate my specific response to somebody that clearly lacks reading comprehension skills.

Are there any other glamered set bonus that work?

I tried using a glamered version of legendary traveller's coat to see if it would give me a set bonus, but nope, it didnt count.

Q:  What kind of shit-caked sewer rat continuously uses cheats to advance his toon’s development, then publicly posts them to ruin it for everybody else?

A:  Symbiont.

I gotta admit that hearing of his entire guild of hacks and cheats getting caught and deleted put a smile on my face.
