Has anyone tried using Draconic t4's Energy Vortex? (Read 1913 times)

	The t4 breath upgrade has a choice between energy burst (double damage AOE centered on self), energy vortex (15 second AOE DOT centered on self, ticks every 3 seconds, basically permanent uptime) and a double damage cone. Having permanent up time on the epic strike sounds like a really good deal, but i dont know how short the range is. Is it like melee range? I dont think i have seen anyone use it yet, everyone uses the cone instead.

	No one uses it because *2 damage is what you need to solo nuke shit in r10. That said, try it. The rest is just platinum.... And the one time I tried it, it sucked and was nto always up.

The way its written, it sounds like it ticks 2x in 6 seconds which is effectively the same damage as a single breath.

	It has a large first blast, larger than the subsequent ticks so i think its still good for burst damage. I like it because I don't really need it. Its just value added damage at that point. You can nuke with other things and lay down twice as much damage at that point. You also get a chance to apply the augmented effect.

	Just pick Cone *2 dmg. It is still a breath attack (so it adds breath DC, also chance to paralyze) in opposite to other 2 options.
