Comparing DDO to WoW is hardly fair. WoW has world-wide brand recognition and DDO is just one of several competing DnD MMOs.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

I don't know the exact where buy they announced awhile ago plans to take the level cap from 30 to 40 and add a legendary TR mechanic. That's pretty long term.

Why would he use parenthesis?  Was he filling in the blanks by coping and pasting from someone else?   Shocked

Don't tell him that, he and the whole crew is delusional. Their ego is unparalled, and now they are pissed off that dodge nerf didn't go through. They finally accepted the incorp and concealment nerfs in reaper mode but refused to say what percentage per skull.

Expect more melee nerfs or more caster power to be given - their inability to balance melee combat exposes them and they would like to get rid of those remaining melee players as soon as possible or convert them to casters.

Didn't SSG say they weren't going to balance based on reaper content?

i appreciate trying to compare 2 fruits but its still apples and oranges, those 2 terms have such different statistics and the graph comes out relative. search just "ddo" and it has similar stats to "wow" without the 3 spikes that probably correlate with some kind of news. search for "ddo" vs "gawnas cavern" and it looks like the chart in OP except DDO is popular.

for a frame of reference, if u compare "ddo" and "vote biden" they are comically comparable so im gonna assume that implies a little over 81 million google searches for ddo on average.

If someone has been in a coma for 2 years  are they considered dying?
Just like DDO, some players are the feeding tube who lets SSG regularly shit the bed.
For letting the DNS go unpaid again shows they are drunk at the wheel and just waiting for another major mishap.

I wonder if the company could end up bankrupted such that EG7 sells it off for a song. Would be funny if someone like OnePercentor swooped in and bought DDO. It really wouldn't take much capitol for someone who knows the game to turn things around.

The license is the only thing they have worth anything, and even if they bankrupt they probably won't be forced to sell it to pay off debtors - I'm sure it's shelled and re-licensed to prevent just that.

There's always the hope that after enough complaints of malficence WotC will just Pull the license...

That would just kill the game. If you don't like DDO, don't play it. Those of us who like the game would like it to improve.

The problem is DDO is stuck in low population > low revenue > no money to improve content/UI etc > low population loop since MoTU fuck up. All the new players who came during pandemic saw how shit the whole game and management is and left us.

While Blizzard has secured its future with Microsoft there is no light at the end of tunnel for DDO in the foreseeable future.

There was an influx of new players with the free code and HCL but the game can't hold those players.
Maybe the game is ok but everything else around it sucks big time, especially non-existing CS during a time of new players.
I believe now that it is a business concept. You make more profit on players that are frustrated with CS and buy a workaround than having a good relationship with the playerbase and secure loyality.
It is numbers, that's all.

telling he said it's "neither dead nor dying" but did not assert anything positive like "thriving" or "growing".

"we are treading water" is probably accurate if not optimistic. I mean people still play StarCraft 2, no reasons games can't live for decades if they're efficient enough, and maintain enough whales. At some point it's like Substack/newsletter  economics
