If you want to see what the last days of DDO will look like, dig through what Crema did to their game. In the end, they published an open letter blaming the community for everything, and the direct aftermath is you could fit the entire game's population on, say, Argo on a good day.
No. If you want to see what the last days of DDO will look like, look at Asheron's Call(same dev team if you remember). 1 month notice. Total blackout. Broken promises. Then the server's On/Off switch will be set to "off" and the game worlds wiped forever from the servers within a day.
The dev team had promised to release a private server to the community for years. None ever came.

As for favorite build, I once made a monk AA with 6 levels of artificer so I could have endless fusillade as a swapout for the hell of it. Level 25 days, before the trees. Did Epic Elite just fine; there was more ability to be a dumbass at the top echelons back then.
Yes. Back then build was all about "what sort of crazy shit do you feel like focusing on?". I had some kind of build - I think it was 5 wizard/3 fighter/12 artificer? I honestly don't recall - but basically you were a lighting artificer. You used Blast Rod, Lightning Motes, and Lightning Sphere to facerole through EE dungeons and then fell back on your bow when it came time to DPS bosses. I don't think I ever enjoyed any build quite as much.
And then came Reaper.

The problem is I probably definitely won't know if another great expansion gets released.
FIFY.
To many fucktards don't mind slogging through wildernesses or broken drop rates. We've about as much hope of seeing a good xpac as we do of the level cap actually hitting 40 before the servers close down.
